Our Vision

Family

Whether married, single, widowed, or divorced....You're a part of the VICTORIOUS Family! VBM’s focus on family comes from the belief that a healthy family equals a healthy church and community. With this in mind, VBM places priority on programs that develop familial bonds. Members learn to define "family", not only as the people residing inside their own homes, but also as those they encounter within the ministry.

Our Marriage Enrichment department has worked to provide classes, conferences, and programs that enrich and strengthen the bonds between husband and wife. Couples learn that placing God above all else in the relationship is key to a long lasting, healthy marriage.

These teachings also flow through to our Singles Ministry. VBM makes an effort to provide programs that develop our singles whether they are young adults who have never been married, divorcees, single parents, or widowed. We address seeking the Kingdom first, sexual purity, financial management, and living ever day with purpose instead of waiting for a spouse to fulfill their destinies.

Discipleship

Growing strong disciples for Christ, grows strong ministries and community leaders. At VBM, training begins with the New Members and Discipleship Assimilation Program where new saints and new members are introduced to the basics of spreading the gospel and building a spiritually/doctrinally sound lifestyle.

Our youth ministry participates in a yearly “spiritual encounter” event where our children spend time away from the various distractions found in our daily lives to draw nearer to God and fellowship with one another.

Evangelism

Part of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) is to spread the gospel through witness and public preaching. At its core, that is the heart of evangelism…spreading the Gospel of Christ. The ministry as a whole regularly participates in "Operation: Souls", an evangelistic program dedicated to teams of VBM members flooding the streets witnessing and ministering to each person they meet. Coupled with "Pullover Prayer", an event enabling the community to receive prayer in a drive-through manner, "Operation: Souls" effectively makes the gospel accessible to people from every walk of life. Understanding that there is an attack on men and fathers, VBM also provides a Men’s Locker Room Rap and Hoops session. Every Tuesday night the gym doors are opened to men in the community to play basketball, openly discuss the issues men face in today’s society, and discuss what the Word says about these issues.

Community Development

Our focus on strengthening our local community has birthed VBM Community Outreach (VBMCO).

VBMCO partners with the Saginaw School district through a constant presence within the schools as well as organizing an annual Back-to-School rally that hosts hundreds of students each year. Free backpacks and school supplies are provided to each child in attendance as well as providing a fun “carnival” like atmosphere to celebrate their continuing education.

Our motto is SALVATION + EDUCATION = SUCCESS and therefore we support our children both spiritually therefore we support our children both spiritually and academically. Music and Math after-school programs and academically focused summer camps are provided to encourage our children to reach for their dreams. VBMCO has also opened the Victory Resources Center, an ongoing program to assist in obtaining housing, financial management assistance, and debt reduction. Resources regarding job preparation training and skills trade programs are also available. A staple within the ministry for a number of years is the New Beginnings Recovery Program, which provides counseling and ministry to recovering addicts. This program encourages attendees to rebuild their lives and maintain meaningful relationships.

Missions

Above all else, missions are about showing the love of Christ in areas where His love may not always be seen and VBM is all about love! We are intentional about loving God’s people. Ten percent of the ministry’s annual income is dedicated to the mission fields and the missionaries serving across the globe.

We also place considerable resources into the local mission field, serving regularly at the Saginaw Food Bank, the local shelter, recovery/rehabilitation centers, and various organizations in the Saginaw area. Our teams serve in orphanages in the Macon, Georgia area and we have developed a global partnership with Trinidad, South Africa, and the Dominican Republic.
