Children's Ministry
Children are a primary focus at VBM and given special attention. At VBM, we recognize that our children are our future, therefore we must prepare them for the years ahead. Special activities, educational programs and events are provided to nurture them into adolescence. Our children are served through Biblical instruction by means of Children's Church and weekly sessions. One of the most popular ministries in this in-reach is the Puppet Ministry.
Triumphant Teens - T2
Our Youth Ministry, Triumphant Teens, is designed to empower youth to excel personally and spiritually. Biblical instruction, educational resources, community involvement and recreational activities complement our ministry to youth. Our priority of motivational teaching and mentoring in the gospel helps to promote responsible youth, positive role models and prepare future leaders for today's society.
Unorthodox, radical, yet Jesus-Centered capture the spirit of monthly "Friday Night Live" Fellowship. Both youth and the young at heart gather from around the city and beyond for a High Impact evening. Special music, drama, comedy, singing and step teams are just a few of the talents showcased by participating youth.
Focus
on the Family
As for
me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)
Men's
Fellowship and Women's Ministries
Singles'
and Couples' Fellowships
The family is the most basic and pivotal institution in society. Through practical teaching, fellowship discussion groups, social events and mentoring, both married and single adult men and women foster positive Christian, social, and covenant relationships.
Focus on the Community
By love serve one another. (Galations 5:13)
Home Missions
Compassion is love in action. Through this outreach food, clothing, financial assistance and other services are provided to the less fortunate in the Saginaw Valley Community. In addition, Bible study, prayer, domestic violence prevention education, chapel and dorm services are conducted for residents and inmates in numerous institutions. These services are rendered at prisons, jails, juvenile centers, homeless shelters, community center, convalescent homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, television prayer center and VBM. Workers endeavor to give hope to the incarcerated by admonishing them that with Jesus Christ they can be "free behind prison walls" and prepare for a new and promising future. In addition, substance abuse counseling and education is provided for recovering substance abusers and their families.
Focus on Education
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore
get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
(Proverbs 4:7)
Teaching and Training
Knowledge is power! Through various mediums, such as Sunday School, Bible Institute, School of Ministry, Vacation Bible School, leadership development seminars, and educational programming, members and the community benefit from sound teaching. As a result, a substantial number of youth and adults have been inspired to complete their college degrees in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies. In addition to Biblical instruction, classes and seminars also address historical themes, current issues and personal enrichment. The goal is to equip participants, provide resources and empower youth and adults to apply knowledge in their everyday lives for victorious living.
Focus on Spreading the Gospel
Go out into the highways and hedges, and
compel them to come in (St. Luke 14:23)
Radio, Television, Newsletter, Bookstore
The ministry of VBM goes beyond the walls of
the church. The Radio Ministry is designed to strengthen Believers,
reach the unchurched and minister to the incarcerated, sick & shut-in
and hospitalized. The Spirit of Victory Newsletter is the churches'
official publication. This communication vehicle is published quarterly
with a national mailing list and features inspirational writings, ministry
programs and special interests. The Spirit of Victory Bookstore enables
Believers to increase their knowledge of God's Word and share the gospel
with best-selling books, cassette tapes, videos and other resources.
Bishop and Mrs. Pryor are also involved as hosts and panelists on various
Christian television programs.
