A FAMILY MAN

Bishop & Mrs. Marvin (Ruth) C. Pryor have been married for 40 years and raised four adult children, Derrick, Vonda, Minister Mel and Elder Chris and have two granddaughters. They are most grateful to have saved children serving alongside them in ministry. They have dedicated their lives to changing the lives of people and inspiring them to achieve Excellence in both their spiritual and natural lives. Nay, in all things we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ!

A CHRISTIAN MAN

Bishop Pryor is a man of faith and credits his upbringing in a Christian home by loving parents as the foundation for his success. He has been saved and Holy Ghost filled since his early childhood for over 53 years. Since 1984, he has served as the celebrated Pastor of Victorious Believers Ministries (VBM) COGIC. VBM is committed to a APursuit of Excellence in Holiness. The church has more than 70 active ministries serving its membership and the community at large of all ages from all walks of life. VBM's extensive outreach efforts, locally and abroad, include radio, prison and jail ministries, food & clothing distribution, ministering at numerous community agencies and a sister church in Trinidad, West Indies. The nearly 50,000 ft2 multipurpose worship facility, comprising of a Worship Center, Family Life Center/Gymnasium, Educational Wing and Administrative Center is conveniently located off of Michigan's main interstate to attract non-Believers as well as the Body of Christ to Christian service. Bishop Pryor is also a television co-host for various programs of Total Christian Television (TCT) Network, broadcasts locally and various regions nationally.

Bishop Pryor serves as the Jurisdictional Prelate of churches for The Third Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Southwest Michigan. He also serves as the National Director of Church Growth and Development for the Church of God in Christ worldwide, appointed by Presiding Bishop G. E. Patterson. He is devoted to inspiring pastors and church leaders to operate healthy churches in the spirit of excellence, regardless of their membership size.

A PREPARED MAN

Bishop Pryor has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from The University of Michigan and has completed extensive doctoral studies at the University of Michigan in Educational Leadership and Administration. In 1992, after serving 30 years as an educator within the Flint (MI) Public Schools, he accepted early retirement as principal of Flint Northern High School to maximize his service to the ministry and community. During his 24 years as an administrator, he served 19 years as a principal.

A MAN OF HONOR

Bishop Pryor's affiliations, accomplishments and awards are many. He is the recipient of myriad awards for religious, civic, and academic excellence and service. Among his most cherished awards is the A Father of the Year Award, conferred by the former Mayor, City of Flint (MI).
